Two decades

Before joining IIM Kozhikode, I taught at XLRI (Xavier School of Management), Jamshedpur, for nearly two decades starting from 2001. I joined XLRI as an Assistant Professor in 2006 before getting promoted to Associate Professor.

I have always been actively involved in institution building wherever I have worked, and XLRI was where that instinct first took shape, in the courses, the conventions, and the long apprenticeship of learning to teach.

    Doubled the division and co-created PGCLSCM, a one-year postgraduate certificate in logistics and supply chain management.

Prof Kakani is a remarkable Professor who followed all the responsibilities as a good professional with full commitment. I feel very sorry that today he is going elsewhere and we are losing an asset to XLRI. We wish him all success in IIMK.

In closing

Nearly two decades at XLRI were the long apprenticeship of my teaching life — the courses, the conventions, the colleagues, the students. In this journey of life, today comes an end of another memorable stint at XLRI Jamshedpur. I would like to thank each XL family member for the love and respect bestowed on me and making this journey of life a more meaningful one.
