TRACES
Trust by Rational AU Chemical Engg. Students
Serving the Alma-Mater
While changing our tracks for a better and prosperous life, we often get reminded of the struggle we have had to put up throughout our journey.
Keeping in mind some underprivileged young minds, who due to the lack of proper resources, fear to think of a sober career, the 1988-92 A.U. Chemical Engineering alumni started a humble effort from our side to serve the department by way of arranging for scholarships to brilliant students in 1999.
This is a small way of showing respect to our Alma-Mater.
The TRACES committee consists of C S Ram Kishore, M V S Venu Madhav, P Murali Prasad and self. The Trust has been a successful product of the minds of some really great human beings joining hands together.
I feel proud to mention the names of my college day friends, who have been the main reason behind this mission- Chavali Sree Rama Kishore, M.V.J. Sarma, N. Srinivasa Krishna, Alapati Rama Rao, and Mary Sujatha. They all have been a constant support and contributor behind the success of this trust.
There are some more people who have helped our trust to grow in size beyond expectation. They are – Naidu Lakshmi Narayan, P B S Srinivas, and CPC Kamlakar Rao.
With due respect, I would like to mention Prof. V S R K Prasad and K Venkateshwara for helping us in driving our mission to its destination. Following their footsteps, now, Prof. M Narasimha Rao Garu and Prof. S Subba Rao Garu are pulling the wheels of this Trust.
As students, we too during our college days, needed a helping hand to walk us through tough times, but due to lack of proper resources, our mentors could only lend their emotional care and support. At the end of our college days, with the consent of the college authorities, few college students decided to help out needy students and provide them with a decent scholarship for their higher studies.
Since 1999, till this date, we have been trying our level best to contribute towards a better future for the deserving students. No matter how far we are scattered, we all try to come together for this noble cause. But sometimes, unfortunately due to lack of help, we fall short of funds. As during 2007-08, we could not raise the targeted amount to provide scholarship to the students.
We should remember that times have changed and due to inflation, the value of money has been falling drastically since 1999. Hence, I hope people keep this in mind and contribute accordingly.
Our mission is to ensure that TRACES remains sustainable even in the long-run and its reach and impact spreads to the even lowest strata of the society, hailing from the rural and the sub-urban areas.
Our main aim is to provide some aid to the young minds, which need some nurturing and support to achieve their dreams. If we do not lend our help to such people, who else will?
