Mythological Stories and their Myths

Mythological stories are a source of enlightenment in today's practical life, where we feel everything is going haywire and not according to Nature's norms. But if we compare life described there and life experienced today, I feel we are leading a much disciplined life after all.

Once I had raised my views regarding the relationships today in the following lines - "You call today's relationships on fb as 'complicated', then you should call relationships that prevailed during Mahabharatha -- 'hazaar complicated'."

To this, Diwakar Kaushik commented, "So correct. I have been reading Jaya by Devdutt Patnaik and suddenly the 'kaliyuga' society looks so civilized with most of us born of one father and one mother and more importantly most of us knowing who they are."

I replied, "In many ways, Mahabhratha is opposite to Ramayana. Both have incredible characters and learning. Yet Mahabharatha seems to be more complex, with its maze of characters." Following this, Ramaa Ramesh wrote, "Exactly what I am re-reading right now. A story that I will never tire of, with new insights each time!"

Both the characters of rama and krishna have severe differences. One showing rules of family life and the other showing rules of the larger life.
